You are welcome to play in our lively pick-up bands (PUB) and
mixed-age dance (MAD) bands.
PUB plays about once per month for the weekly
contra dance
in Princeton, NJ.It
is open to players at all skill levels on any acoustic instrument. The band leader brings some sheet music to the dance, but
please bring your own if possible.

The PCD
pick-up band has been playing regularly for about three decades, and in former
years, there were rehearsals. Now it takes place without rehearsal under the
auspices of various volunteer band leaders, who choose the tunes and direct its
activities during the evening.

The Mixed-Age Dance (MAD) band plays on Sunday afternoons
for community dances, which encourage
musical partication by children and parents. The band is open to players at all
skill levels and of any age, and an optional rehearsal directly precedes the
dance.
